What is a Metal Service Center?

Metal Service Centers are the key link in the supply chain for most users of metals. Service centers:

  1. Buy from metal producers (mills) in large quantities.
  2. Warehouse the metal close to the customer.
  3. Transform the metal into a form that can be used by the customers.
  4. Provide services ranging from credit to just-in-time inventory management
    and even full supply chain management for customers.
  5. Sell relative small quantities to a very large number of customers.

With over $2.0 million in inventory, ALMETCO stocks: angles, channels, tubes, bars, coils, sheets, tread plates, expanded metal, plates, other extruded shapes, screws, bolts and accessories in general. Aluminum extrusions come in alloys 6063 and 6061 mill finish, painted and anodized in various colors. Aluminum flat products come in alloys 1100, 3003 and 5052 for common fabricating applications
and 2024, 6061 and 7075 for more sophisticated uses such as high precision parts and aircraft maintenance in gauges from .016" up to 4" thick. The stainless steel products inventory is also ample. It includes standard shapes, coil and sheet in gauges 10 to 24, alloy 304 #3 polished finish,
and diamond tread plate alloy 304, .125" and 250" thick.

ALMETCO not only has a wide variety of products but also the most modern machinery and experienced personnel for its processing. Among these, two cut-to-length lines capable of processing coils from .016" to .190" thickness and up to 60" wide, 36" and 76" slitters with tolerance of ±.005", and a shear capable of processing steel plates up to .250" in thickness and 12’ in length. Various benders are also available capable of processing .125" gauge material up to 12’ in length. All this equipment allows ALMETCO to serve the most demanding multinational companies, as well as many local manufacturers and the general public.

With over 40,000 square feet of warehouse space and ample parking facilities, ALMETCO is conveniently located on Road #21 Km 0.3, Rio Piedras, in former Ventanas Nevárez Building. Our business hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday thru Friday.
